Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a “nose job,” is a surgical procedure performed to reshape or reconstruct the nose for functional and/or cosmetic purposes. It may be done to improve nasal appearance, correct structural deformities, or enhance breathing by addressing internal issues such as a deviated nasal septum. The surgery can involve modification of bone, cartilage, and soft tissues to achieve a balanced facial profile and better nasal airflow. Rhinoplasty may be performed using either an open or closed approach, depending on the complexity of the case. The goal is to achieve natural-looking results while maintaining or improving nasal function.
- Cosmetic Enhancement: Improves the shape, size, and symmetry of the nose to match facial features.
- Functional Correction: Helps resolve breathing difficulties by correcting internal nasal structures.
- Types of Procedure: Includes open rhinoplasty (external incision) and closed rhinoplasty (no visible scars).
- Recovery Process: Swelling and bruising are common initially, with most visible healing occurring within 2–3 weeks, while final results develop over months.
- Long-Term Results: Provides lasting improvement in both appearance and nasal function when performed by an experienced surgeon.
