Thyroid nodules & large goiters
Thyroid nodules and large goiters are common conditions affecting the thyroid gland, which is located in the front of the neck. A thyroid nodule is a small lump or growth within the gland, while a goiter refers to an overall enlargement of the thyroid. Most nodules are benign (non-cancerous), but some may require further evaluation to rule out malignancy. Large goiters can cause visible neck swelling and, in some cases, lead to symptoms like difficulty swallowing, breathing issues, or voice changes due to pressure on nearby structures.
